On October 16, 2025, the 8th China Fluorosilicon Industry Green Development Conference and the 21st Organic Silicon Academic Exchange Conference were held in Yongxiu, Jiangxi. At the meeting, Yongxiu County signed a cooperation agreement with Zhejiang University Quzhou Research Institute and Organic Silicon Innovation Research Institute to jointly establish a joint laboratory for organic silicon new materials, and set up a 30 million yuan innovation award fund to support enterprises and universities in carrying out key technology research and development.
As the most complete base of the domestic organic silicon industry chain, Yongxiu County has gathered more than 170 upstream and downstream enterprises, developed more than 1300 products, and achieved a 70% industrial correlation. In recent years, the county has established a collaborative mechanism between industry, academia, and research through the construction of "enterprise question setting, scientific research answering, and market judgment", and has created five public platforms including a silicone pilot base and a provincial-level testing center to fully meet the needs of enterprise research and development, testing, and talent cultivation. In 2024, there will be 80 high-tech enterprises in Yongxiu, steady growth in R&D investment in industrial enterprises above designated size, completion and operation of 44 key projects such as the Spark Organic Silicon "Phoenix" project, and construction of 58 projects including Bailihe with an investment of 2 billion yuan.
Xing Hongxing, a second level inspector of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province, stated that in the future, he will continue to support Yongxiu in building a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform, promote the transformation of achievements, and help enterprises upgrade towards high-end, green, and intelligent directions. Chen Shuilian, Deputy Mayor of Jiujiang City, revealed that Jiujiang has listed the fluorosilicon industry as a key focus of modern industrial system construction, established a 10 billion yuan industrial industry investment guidance fund, focused on extending, supplementing, and strengthening the chain, and created a national highland for fluorosilicon new materials.
It is worth noting that the application of organic silicon materials in the field of new energy is accelerating. The world's first 10000 ton bio based silicone rubber production line has been put into operation in Shandong, completely eliminating dependence on petroleum raw materials; The penetration rate of liquid silicone (LSR) in medical grade insulin pumps has increased by 500%, and the barrier to medical device certification is expected to collapse within five years. With the advancement of the "dual carbon" target, the core position of organic silicon as a green new material is further highlighted, and the industry is facing new opportunities for high-quality development.
