Wuhan, January 5, 2026 - At the 2026 Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Conference, Li Shubing, the chief engineer of Xingfa Group's silicone specialty, and his team were awarded the first prize of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award for their project "Green Process and Key Equipment for the Preparation of Methylchlorosilane Monomer and Its Industrialization". Through process innovation and equipment intelligence, this project has achieved a green transformation in the production of silicone monomers, providing key technical support for China's transition from a major to a powerful country in the field of silicone.
Technological innovation: energy consumption reduced by 64%, and emissions of "three wastes" (waste gas, waste water, and waste solids) sharply decreased
Addressing the issues of low efficiency, high energy consumption, and difficulties in waste treatment associated with traditional processes, the project team has developed key technologies for the efficient preparation and hydrolysis of methylchlorosilane monomer, as well as automated production lines and devices for comprehensive waste utilization. According to third-party assessments, the project has reduced energy consumption for monomer separation by 64%, personnel allocation by over 50%, and annual emissions of waste by 519,400 tons, as well as carbon emissions by 53,500 tons. Currently, the relevant technologies have been transformed at Hubei Xingrui Silicon Materials Co., Ltd., where a 400,000-ton/year chloromethane synthesis and 800,000-ton/year organosilicon monomer synthesis and separation facility has been established. Over the past three years, the company has seen an increase in sales revenue of 8.694 billion yuan and profit of 672 million yuan.
Smart factory: Digital twin technology empowers production
The project has established the industry's first digital twin smart factory for silicone production, achieving precise control of the production process through real-time data collection and AI optimization algorithms. For instance, in the low-pressure hydrolysis process of dimethyldichlorosilane, the intelligent system can dynamically adjust reaction parameters, elevating product purity to 99.99%, a 0.5 percentage point improvement over traditional processes. Furthermore, the factory has implemented robotic inspection and automated packaging lines, boosting operational efficiency by 40% and reducing the safety accident rate to zero.
Industrial synergy: The leading unit in the chain drives the upgrading of the cluster
As the leading unit in the silicone industry chain in Hubei Province, Xingfa Group relies on the Hubei Three Gorges Laboratory and the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for New Silicone Materials to collaborate with upstream and downstream enterprises to overcome key technologies. For example, it has cooperated with Dongyue Silicon Materials to develop high-end silicone oil products and jointly established an electronic adhesive R&D platform with Huitian New Materials. Currently, the silicone industry cluster in Hubei Province has formed a complete chain from raw materials, monomers to deep processing, with an annual output value exceeding 30 billion yuan and significantly enhanced market competitiveness.
Future Outlook: Aiming for the goal of "Hundred Billion Xingfa, World-class Enterprise"
Li Shubing stated that the team will accelerate the research and development of new silicon-based materials, with a focus on high-end fields such as photovoltaic encapsulation adhesives and artificial blood vessels. Meanwhile, relying on Xingfa Group's industrial bases in Yunnan and Inner Mongolia, the team will promote the nationwide adoption of green processes, helping China's silicone industry occupy a higher position in the global value chain.
