In the aerospace field, ethyl silicone oil has become a "life support agent" for key components due to its excellent temperature resistance and chemical stability. In the deployment mechanism of satellite solar panels, ethyl silicone grease can maintain stable lubrication in the temperature range of -120 ℃ to 200 ℃, ensuring zero faults during deployment. A test conducted by a certain space agency showed that the hinge system treated with ethyl silicone oil had a friction coefficient fluctuation of less than 0.0005 after running 100000 times in a simulated space radiation environment.


In the field of rocket propellant storage tanks, ethyl silicone sealant exhibits unique advantages. Its low permeability (<1 × 10 ⁻¹⁰ cm ³/s · cm ²) can effectively prevent liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen leakage. After a new type of carrier rocket adopts a modified ethyl silicone oil sealing system, the daily evaporation rate of the propellant is reduced to 0.03%, reaching the international leading level. In the lubrication of aviation engine bearings, perfluoroethyl silicone oil composite lubricants can increase the working temperature to 350 ℃ and reduce the wear rate to 1/20 of traditional lubricants, providing key material support for the development of next-generation high thrust to weight ratio engines.


With the rise of commercial aerospace, breakthroughs have been made in the application of ethyl silicone oil in reusable spacecraft thermal protection systems. The silicone ceramic precursor developed by a certain enterprise can form a dense ceramic coating after 1200 ℃ heat treatment. Its thermal conductivity is reduced by 40% compared to traditional silicon carbide materials, and it has self-healing function, providing the possibility for spacecraft to be reused more than 10 times.
