Multi dimensional development of silicone industry, parallel innovation and expansion

At present, with the continuous evolution of the global industrial pattern and the increasingly popular concept of green development, the organic silicon industry is undergoing profound changes, presenting a multidimensional development trend of market supply and demand structure adjustment, enterprise innovation breakthroughs, and capacity expansion.
Recently, as one of the core areas of the domestic organic silicon industry, the development of the organic silicon industry in Yongxiu County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province has attracted attention. Yongxiu County, with years of accumulation, has gathered 166 upstream and downstream and supporting enterprises, with an industrial correlation of 70%, becoming the most complete base for the domestic organic silicon industry chain. In order to promote further industrial upgrading, Yongxiu County has closely followed the direction of digitization, intelligence, and greening, and issued a series of policy documents such as the "Yongxiu County Manufacturing Digital Transformation Work Plan". It has integrated 20 million yuan of support funds from provincial and municipal pilot counties, and specially arranged 50 million yuan of digital transformation bonus funds from the county finance. At the same time, it has innovatively launched the "Organic Silicon Industry Loan", which has pre granted 460 million yuan of credit to 28 enterprises and issued 123 million yuan of loans to help accelerate their digital transformation. At present, more than 100 upstream and downstream enterprises of organosilicon have completed the "smart transformation and digital transformation" under policy guidance. Among them, Jiangxi Bluestar Spark Organosilicon Co., Ltd. completed the intelligent transformation, built a 5G+industrial Internet platform, realized the digital monitoring and management of the whole process, improved the production efficiency by more than 20%, reduced energy consumption by 12%, and reduced the defective rate of products to below 0.3%. The company has also developed 15 silicone digital application scenarios, output 23 modular products, and promoted them to more than 20 enterprises. It was rated as the national 5G+industrial Internet demonstration enterprise.
In the field of technological innovation, scientists from Blue Star Aiken Company, a subsidiary of China National Chemical Corporation, have made significant breakthroughs. The research result jointly led by it and its partners, "Catalytic recovery of organic silicon waste using boron trichloride to produce key chlorosilanes", was published in the internationally authoritative academic journal "Science". Research has revealed that at a low temperature of 40 ℃, the use of efficient gallium catalysts can increase the reaction rate of waste organic silicon recycling by millions of times, and can convert almost any type of organic silicon waste into chlorosilane raw materials, breaking through the technical bottleneck of organic silicon waste recycling. At present, the research team is actively exploring the feasibility of industrial application of this technology, which is expected to promote the large-scale recycling of global organic silicon waste in the future and help promote the green development of the industry. In addition, the SILCOLEASE RE series, the first 100% recycled silicone product launched by Elkem, won the "Sustainable Product of the Year" award from BIG for its innovative waste conversion technology and excellent product performance. The carbon footprint of this product is only 1.1 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilogram of product, far below the global average level, and it has been piloted and put into operation at the Saint Feng factory in France.
From the perspective of capacity building, multiple major projects have made substantial progress. The special silicone expansion project of the Zhangjiagang production base of Wacker Chemical, a German chemical giant, was officially completed. The new production line will be used to produce silicone oil, silicone lotion and silicone elastomer gel, which will be gradually put into use in the next few months to meet the growing demand for high-quality special silicone in the Chinese market. Wacker has been developing in China for over 30 years, with 37% of the group's total sales coming from Asia, of which about half come from China. This expansion demonstrates its strategic determination to "be in China, for China". Domestically, the Asia Group's annual production of 1.6 million tons of organic silicon project officially started construction on April 1, 2025, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2026. This project relies on the comprehensive raw material and energy industry advantages of its subsidiary group, such as quartz ore, industrial silicon, methanol, polycrystalline silicon, and self owned power plants, combined with advanced domestic and foreign processes, to build large-scale synthesis, distillation, hydrolysis and other facilities, which will effectively promote the scale development of the organic silicon industry.
Not only that, the development of the industry has also attracted new investments and project implementation. Ningbo Runhe High tech Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has signed an investment agreement with the Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, and the high-end organic silicon new material project with a total investment of 400 million yuan has officially settled down. This project will establish a high-end organic silicon new material demonstration production base in southern China, mainly producing high-end organic silicon products applied in cutting-edge fields such as AI computing power, integrated circuits, and new energy. After full production, the expected annual output value is 800 million yuan, which will fill the gap in the field of organic silicon deep processing in Zhuhai and provide strong support for the supply of key materials in the regional new energy industry chain.
The silicone industry is currently in a period of rapid development and transformation, with technological innovation providing a new path for green development. Capacity expansion and project implementation further optimize the industrial layout, and various regions are also using policy guidance and service support to help the silicone industry move towards higher quality and more competitive directions.
