Breakthroughs in ethyl silicone oil technology lead industry innovation, and Xinyuan Chemical releases new ultra-low temperature resistant products

On November 10, 2025, Xinyuan Chemical (Shandong) Co., Ltd. made another breakthrough in the field of silicone materials and officially launched a new generation of ultra low temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil products. Its gel point is as low as -110 ℃, which is more than 30 ℃ higher than the low temperature performance of traditional silicone oil, and can meet the industrial needs in extreme environments. This product has passed the extreme environment testing of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and has become a core lubricating material in fields such as Antarctic scientific research equipment and deep-sea exploration instruments.


According to Yu Pengfei, the manager of Xinyuan Chemical Business Unit, the ethyl silicone oil developed this time adopts the modification technology of trifluoropropylmethylcyclotriosiloxane (D3F). Through molecular chain structure optimization, while maintaining the original high temperature resistance (150 ℃) and high flash point (>265 ℃) characteristics of ethyl silicone oil, the low-temperature flowability is improved by 50%. Laboratory data shows that the product can still remain liquid at -90 ℃, with a viscosity change rate of less than 5%, far exceeding the industry standard of 20%. In addition, the product is compatible with more than 30 types of metals such as copper, aluminum, titanium alloys, as well as plastic and rubber materials through chemical inertness enhancement technology, solving the industry problem of traditional silicone oil easily causing oxidation and corrosion when in contact with copper materials.


At present, this product has been applied in the shock absorption system of the Long March series rockets, the hydraulic transmission device of the C919 aircraft, and high-end cosmetic formulations. Xinyuan Chemical revealed that its intelligent production line located in Weihai, Shandong has achieved an annual output of 2000 tons, and its products are exported to 12 countries and regions including the European Union and North America. It is expected that the global market share will exceed 15% by 2026.
