The 3rd Organic Silicon Technology and Application Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai from June 18th to 20th, 2025. On the forum, new silicon-based materials became the focus. ZTE showcased the application of organic silicon thermal conductive materials in 5G base stations, with a 40% increase in heat dissipation efficiency compared to traditional materials; The medical grade liquid silicone (LSR) developed by the Zhejiang University team has passed clinical testing of insulin pumps and is expected to break through the barriers of medical device certification in the next five years; The "Twin monomer photo induced twin polymerization" technology proposed by Tongji University has increased the efficiency of organic silicon polymerization reaction by three times and reduced the cost by 50%. The forum has set up a "Organic Silicon+AI" innovation laboratory, incubating 17 patents, including cross-border products such as shape memory silicone rubber artificial muscles and silicon-based flexible sensors. The silicon-based immersion coolant launched by Ningbo Runhe High tech Materials has been applied to NVIDIA GPU clusters, reducing single cabinet power consumption by 15%; The polydimethylsiloxane glass body developed by Wuhan University provides a lightweight optical solution for AR/VR devices. Experts attending the meeting pointed out that with the technology iteration cycle shortened to 18 months, the organic silicon industry is shifting from "cost competition" to "scenario definition rights" competition, and the fields of medical health, intelligent materials, and biobased industries will become the next trillion level market.


Regional Practice: Wuda District's "Single Champion" Leads Transformation
During the forum, Wuda District in Inner Mongolia was repeatedly mentioned as a typical case. Relying on its resource endowment, the district has cultivated 8 autonomous region level manufacturing industry champions. Among them, Inner Mongolia Hengye Chengorganic Silicon's methyl vinyl silicone rubber occupies 16% of the national market share, and Inner Mongolia Xingfa Technology's glyphosate is exported to 116 countries and regions. Wuda District has built a full industry chain of "silicon ore monomer terminal products" through "chain investment promotion", and the output value of the organic silicon industry will exceed 20 billion yuan in 2024, becoming a benchmark for the transformation of resource-based cities.
