On December 2, 2025, Yongxiu County in Jiangxi Province signed a cooperation agreement with Quzhou Research Institute and Organic Silicon Innovation Research Institute of Zhejiang University, announcing the establishment of a "Organic Silicon New Materials Joint Laboratory" and setting up a 30 million yuan innovation reward fund, aiming to break through the bottleneck technologies of high-end fluorinated chemicals, special silane, etc., and promote the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. This move marks a crucial step in Yongxiu County's journey to build a national demonstration base for the organic silicon industry.
Driven by both policy and capital, the industrial cluster effect is highlighted
As a key new material industry base cultivated in Jiangxi Province, Yongxiu County has formed a "one core multi pole" industrial layout with organosilicon as the core. As of October 2025, there are 80 high-tech enterprises in the county, and the R&D investment of industrial enterprises above designated size has increased by 15% year-on-year. The output value of the organic silicon industry accounts for more than 40% of the total industrial output value of the county. The Jiujiang Municipal Government has simultaneously established a 10 billion yuan Industrial Industry Investment Guidance Fund, focusing on supporting high-end projects such as fluorosilicon materials and electronic chemicals, injecting momentum into the upgrading of the industrial chain.
The joint laboratory built this time will focus on three major directions: first, developing high-end products such as high-performance silane coupling agents and silicon-based composite materials to replace import dependence; The second is to break through green manufacturing processes and reduce production energy consumption and carbon emissions; The third is to build a pilot platform to accelerate the transformation of laboratory results into large-scale production. Xu Zheng, Dean of the Quzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University, said, "We will work together with Yongxiu Enterprise to tackle key technologies such as photovoltaic packaging adhesive and hydrogen energy storage and transportation materials, and strive to achieve industrialization of more than 5 technological achievements within 3 years
Enterprise innovation vitality bursts forth, downstream application scenarios expand
Under policy guidance, local enterprises in Yongxiu County have accelerated their pace of innovation. Jiangxi Ganjiang New Area Organic Silicon Innovation Research Institute Co., Ltd. has established a pilot base and successfully developed new products such as high-temperature resistant silicone rubber and low dielectric constant silicone resin, which are widely used in fields such as 5G communication and new energy vehicles. Local leading enterprise Jianghan New Materials has increased its functional silane production capacity to 92000 tons per year through technological transformation, with a global market share of over 10%. Its products such as vinyltrimethoxysilane have broken foreign monopolies and achieved domestic substitution.
The expansion of downstream applications further drives industrial upgrading. Relying on the foundation of the organic silicon industry, Yongxiu County has attracted a group of electronic and photovoltaic module enterprises to settle down. For example, the photovoltaic sealant production base built by Silicon Treasure Technology in Yongxiu has an annual production capacity of 180000 tons and a market share of over 45%; The thermal conductive adhesive project for power batteries invested by Huitian New Materials has formed stable supply relationships with leading enterprises such as CATL and BYD.
Green transformation and intelligentization go hand in hand, leading the high-quality development of the industry
Faced with the "dual carbon" goal, Yongxiu County's organic silicon industry is accelerating its transformation towards green and intelligent development. The digital factory system deployed by Hesheng Silicon Industry in Yongxiu Base achieves fully automated control of the production process, reducing energy consumption per unit product by 20% compared to traditional processes; The circular economy project invested by Xingfa Group converts the by-products of organic silicon production into high value-added products such as white carbon black and silicone oil, increasing resource utilization to over 95%.
Xing Hongxing, a second level inspector of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province, pointed out that the Yongxiu model provides a replicable sample for the national organic silicon industry. In the future, we will support more universities, research institutes, and Yongxiu enterprises to establish long-term cooperation mechanisms, promote the industry to climb up the value chain. According to the plan, by 2027, the output value of the organic silicon industry in Yongxiu County will exceed 50 billion yuan, cultivate 3-5 national level "specialized, refined, special and new" small giant enterprises, and become an important source of global organic silicon technology innovation and industrialization.
