On December 10, 2025, Yongxiu County in Jiangxi Province achieved another breakthrough in the field of organic silicon industry innovation. By deepening industry university research cooperation, building an innovation platform, and strengthening policy empowerment, it is accelerating towards becoming a national organic silicon innovation highland. This strategic layout not only injects new momentum into the local economy, but also provides a demonstration sample for the industry's high-end and green transformation.
Deep integration of industry, academia and research, joint laboratory landing
On October 16th, Yongxiu County signed an agreement with Quzhou Research Institute and Organic Silicon Innovation Research Institute of Zhejiang University to jointly establish a joint laboratory for organic silicon new materials. The laboratory focuses on the research and development of high-end fluorinated chemicals and organic silicon "bottleneck" technologies, such as high-performance silicone rubber and special silicone oil products. Yongxiu County Party Secretary Qinling stated that the laboratory will meet the innovation needs of enterprises and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements from the laboratory to the production line. At present, Yongxiu has established a 30 million yuan innovation incentive fund to support joint research and development between enterprises, universities, and research institutes. By 2024, there will be 80 high-tech enterprises, and the R&D investment of industrial enterprises above designated size will steadily increase.
Policy empowers industrial chain upgrading, billions of funds support development
Jiujiang City has listed the fluorosilicon industry as a key area for the construction of a modern industrial system, and proposed a layout plan of "one core profit, multi-point collaboration": with Yongxiu as the core, build a complete industrial chain covering monomer synthesis, downstream products, and terminal applications; Simultaneously establish a 10 billion yuan industrial investment guidance fund, focusing on supporting projects such as high-end sealants and silicon carbon negative electrode materials. For example, the silicon carbon high-performance nano new material integration project signed between Ganhe Industrial Park and Qinghai Silicon based New Material Technology Co., Ltd., as well as the high-end sealant technology filled by Spark Group to fill the domestic gap, have all benefited from policy dividends.
Linkage between innovation platform and pilot base, breaking through technological bottlenecks
Yongxiu relies on the Ganjiang New Area Organic Silicon Innovation Research Institute to build a pilot platform and accelerate the process of technological industrialization. The chairman of the research institute, Wang Pengqi, introduced that the platform has achieved a key leap from laboratory trials to large-scale production, such as forming technical reserves in the fields of methyl silicone oil and silane coupling agents. In addition, Yongxiu collaborates with universities such as Jiangxi University of Applied Science and Technology to cultivate professional talents and provide intellectual support for industrial upgrading. In 2025, Jiangxi Institute of Applied Science and Technology and the University of Padua in Italy jointly applied for the high-pressure new mineral "Xie Quartz" in silica, further enhancing the international influence of the region in the field of mineralogy.
The effect of high-end transformation is evident, and the industrial cluster has been selected for the provincial list
The high-end transformation of Yongxiu's organic silicon industry has achieved substantial results. On December 8th, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangxi Province released the list of advanced manufacturing clusters for 2025, and Yongxiu Organic Silicon Cluster was successfully selected. At present, enterprises within the cluster have formed a complete industrial chain of "silicon ore smelting silicon powder processing monomer synthesis downstream products", with products covering four major series: silicone rubber, silicone oil, and silicone resin, widely used in photovoltaic packaging, new energy vehicle sealing, electronic appliances, and other fields. For example, the 360000 tons/year organic silicon monomer production capacity of Hubei Xingrui, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xingfa Group, and the steady progress of Inner Mongolia Xingfa's 400000 tons/year project have consolidated Yongxiu's leading position in the industry.
Future outlook: Building a national demonstration innovation highland
Xing Hongxing, a second level inspector of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province, stated that he will continue to support Yongxiu in building a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform, promote deep cooperation between industry, academia, and research, support enterprises in aiming for high-end, green, and intelligent goals, and create a demonstration and innovation highland for the development of the national organic silicon industry. With the acceleration of new energy construction during the 15th Five Year Plan period, Yongxiu is expected to further expand its applications in fields such as photovoltaics, hydrogen energy, and humanoid robots through technological innovation, providing replicable experience for the high-quality development of the industry.
