Recently, Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group, a leading domestic organic silicon material enterprise, announced that its independently developed "high-purity ethyl silicone oil" has achieved large-scale production and successfully passed the certification of the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI), marking a crucial step for China to break the foreign monopoly in the field of high-end electronic grade organic silicon materials and take the domestic substitution process.


Ethyl silicone oil is widely used in high-end electronic manufacturing fields such as chip packaging, liquid crystal panels, 5G communication equipment, etc. due to its excellent insulation, high and low temperature resistance, and chemical stability. However, for a long time, the high-end electronic grade ethyl silicone oil market in China has been dominated by international giants such as Germany's Wacker and the United States' Dow Corning. Domestic enterprises are unable to produce products that meet international standards due to technological bottlenecks, leading to the risk of "bottlenecks" in the related industry chain.


The R&D team of Xin'an Chemical has spent three years tackling key issues. By optimizing the catalyst system and improving the polymerization process, the product purity has been successfully increased to 99.99%, and the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) content has been reduced to below 0.1%, reaching the international advanced level. This product has been applied in the packaging process of a leading chip company in China, significantly improving the heat dissipation performance and reliability of the chip. According to calculations, the use of domestically produced ethyl silicone oil reduces chip packaging costs by about 20% and significantly improves supply chain security.


Industry experts say that with the rapid development of emerging technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, the demand for high-end electronic grade ethyl silicone oil market will continue to grow. The breakthrough of Xin'an Chemical not only fills the domestic technological gap, but also provides strong guarantees for the supply chain security of China's electronic manufacturing industry. In the future, domestic enterprises need to further increase their research and development investment to promote the development of ethyl silicone oil towards higher purity and functionality.
