In February 2026, a Chinese research team made significant breakthroughs in the field of ethyl silicone oil modification technology, successfully developing an ethyl silicone oil composite material that is resistant to ultra-low temperatures and has high thermal conductivity, providing innovative solutions for heat dissipation problems in high-end fields such as 5G communication equipment and aerospace electronics.


This material is based on ethyl silicone oil and significantly improves its thermal conductivity and low-temperature stability by introducing nanoscale fluorides and graphene modification. Experimental data shows that within the extreme temperature range of -50 ℃ to 200 ℃, the thermal conductivity of this material is more than three times higher than that of traditional silicone oil, while maintaining the low volatility and electrical insulation properties of ethyl silicone oil. This feature makes it an ideal heat dissipation medium for high-power density scenarios such as 5G base stations and satellite communication equipment.


The traditional silicone oil tends to solidify at low temperatures, leading to a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency, while the new composite material solves this problem through molecular structure design, "said the project leader. At present, this technology has been validated and tested by multiple leading electronics companies, and is expected to achieve large-scale application in the third quarter of 2026, with an annual demand expected to exceed 5000 tons.


Industry analysts point out that with the acceleration of 5G base station construction and the increasing demand for lightweight aerospace electronic equipment, the market space for high-performance ethyl silicone oil will continue to expand. This technological breakthrough not only promotes the high-end development of organic silicon materials in China, but also provides new choices for the global electronics industry supply chain.
