On February 10, 2026, a Chinese research team announced a major breakthrough in the modification technology of ethyl silicone oil, successfully developing ethyl silicone oil composite materials with ultra-low temperature resistance and high thermal conductivity, providing innovative solutions for heat dissipation problems in fields such as 5G communication equipment and aerospace electronics.


This technology significantly improves the thermal conductivity of ethyl silicone oil through molecular structure regulation and nanoparticle composite process, while maintaining its excellent temperature resistance (-60 ℃ to 250 ℃) and electrical insulation properties. Experimental data shows that the application of the new ethyl silicone oil in the heat dissipation module of 5G base stations can reduce equipment temperature by more than 15%, energy consumption by 8%, and effectively extend equipment service life.


The traditional silicon-based thermal conductive materials are prone to performance degradation in extreme environments, while the chemical stability and low volatility of ethyl silicone oil make it an ideal alternative solution, "said the project leader." This breakthrough not only solves the heat dissipation bottleneck of 5G equipment, but also lays the foundation for material demand in future 6G communication, quantum computing and other fields. ”


It is reported that the technology has entered the pilot stage and is expected to achieve large-scale production by the end of 2026.
