Recently, there have been reports of technological breakthroughs in the field of organic silicon materials in China. A batch of high-purity ethyl silicone oil products that are suitable for -70 ℃ ultra-low temperature environments have officially completed mass production and will be supplied in batches to precision instrument manufacturing and polar exploration equipment supporting projects in high-altitude regions such as Northeast and Northwest China, filling some application gaps in extreme low-temperature lubricating media in China.


It is reported that this new type of ethyl silicone oil product is jointly developed by multiple organic silicon material companies in Jiangsu and Hubei provinces. By optimizing the molecular polymerization process, while retaining the low volatility and low viscosity temperature coefficient characteristics of the original material, it further enhances the flow performance and lubrication stability in ultra-low temperature environments. The long-term working temperature range can cover -70 ℃ to 150 ℃, perfectly adapting to the operational needs of precision instruments and hydraulic transmission components for field operations in extremely cold areas. Previously, this type of special low-temperature lubricating medium relied on imports for a long time. The mass production of domestically produced products has not only reduced the related application costs by more than 35%, but also passed the thermal conductivity silicone grease matching test for aerospace electronic equipment, which can meet the heat dissipation and lubrication requirements in extreme temperature difference environments in space.


The industry technical leader introduced that ethyl silicone oil, as a polysiloxane material with ethyl side chains, already has better low-temperature resistance and lubrication performance than dimethyl silicone oil. It has been widely used in rubber plasticization, rubber demolding and other fields. After this technological upgrade, the impurity content of the product is controlled below 0.1%, with no corrosiveness and strong chemical stability. It can be directly used for filling precision instrument bearings and damping systems, effectively eliminating common problems such as instrument pointer vibration and hydraulic oil solidification failure in extremely cold environments. At present, the first batch of orders have been sent to polar monitoring stations in Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and other places, and will be further applied to the operation and maintenance equipment of new energy power stations in high-altitude areas.
