Recently, the domestic silicone material research and development team has completed an iterative upgrade of the low-temperature resistant formula for ethyl silicone oil, targeting the application pain points in extreme low-temperature scenarios such as polar regions and high altitudes. The gel point of the upgraded product is as low as -70 ℃, which can maintain a stable lubricating performance in a wide temperature range from -70 ℃ to 150 ℃, completely solving the industrial problems of traditional mineral lubricants that are prone to solidification and lubrication failure in extremely cold environments.

It is reported that this technological breakthrough has further improved the compatibility and adaptability with mineral oil and synthetic oil by optimizing the molecular chain structure of polydimethylsiloxane, while retaining the advantages of low surface tension and strong chemical stability of ethyl silicone oil. At present, this low-temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil has passed the field testing of polar scientific research equipment and can be widely used in lubrication and damping scenarios of polar hydraulic systems, aviation shock absorber components, and high-altitude precision instruments, providing key material support for equipment operation in extreme environments in China.

Industry data shows that the market demand for low-temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil is growing at a rate of 12% per year. After the domestic technology upgrade, the procurement cost of related products has been reduced by about 22% compared to imported similar products, which will further promote the large-scale application of ethyl silicone oil in high-end fields such as cold region engineering and deep space exploration.
