On August 30, 2026, significant progress was made in the domestic silicone materials sector, with a new non-hydrolytic sol-gel ethyl silicone oil synthesis process jointly developed by several leading local enterprises successfully passing industrial validation. This process abandons the traditional acid-catalyzed modification route, achieving zero wastewater discharge during production while precisely controlling the product's molecular weight distribution index within the 1.1-1.3 range, significantly benchmarking product performance against international first-tier brands.
According to industry calculations, adopting this continuous tubular reactor process reduces the unit energy consumption for ethyl silicone oil production to below 1.2 tons of standard coal, improving energy efficiency by 30% compared to traditional batch processes. The first-pass product yield consistently exceeds 98%. Leveraging the vertical integration advantage of domestic metal silicon self-sufficiency, the new process further lowers production costs for high-end ethyl silicone oil, resulting in a gross margin 8-12 percentage points higher than that of foreign counterparts.
The technology has now initiated large-scale trial production at manufacturing bases in Anhui, Hubei, and other regions. The domestic penetration rate of ethyl silicate oil in high-end fields such as new energy thermal management and ultra-high voltage insulation is expected to further increase.
