Breakthrough Achieved in Green Synthesis Process of Ethyl Silicate in China, Further Expanding Cost Advantages of Domestic Enterprises

Recently, the domestic silicone industry reported a technological breakthrough. A local silicone oil manufacturer in Anhui, in collaboration with a university research team, successfully applied the green synthesis process of non-hydrolytic sol-gel method to the large-scale production of ethyl silicone oil. This process achieves zero harmful emissions during production while maintaining the product's molecular weight distribution index within the stable range of 1.1 to 1.3, achieving performance levels equivalent to those of leading international companies.
According to industry data, domestic leading integrated ethyl silicone oil manufacturers have reduced their energy consumption per unit product to below 1.2 tons of standard coal, while increasing the first-pass yield rate to over 98%. Compared to foreign enterprises, the gross profit margin of domestic industry leaders is 8-12 percentage points higher. With the continuous advancement of the "dual carbon" goals and supply chain security policies, the domestic share of ethyl silicone oil in high-end applications such as UHV insulators and 5G base station heat dissipation has exceeded 60%, further highlighting the green premium advantage of local products.
Industry institutions predict that the domestic ethyl silicate oil market will exceed 6.5 billion yuan in 2026 and is expected to surpass 10 billion yuan by 2031, making China the world's largest single consumer market for ethyl silicate oil.
