With the global energy structure transformation, organic silicon materials have sparked a "green revolution" in new energy fields such as photovoltaics and wind power. In photovoltaic module packaging, neutral single component silicone sealant has become the preferred material for frame sealing due to its weather resistance (resistance to UV aging for more than 5000 hours) and adhesive strength (>1.0MPa). In 2024, the market size of silicone adhesive for photovoltaics in China will reach 3.5 billion yuan, an annual increase of 18%. Among them, the coating of silicone modified acrylic resin backplate can improve the power generation efficiency of modules by 2% and extend their service life to 30 years.


In the field of wind power, organic silicon materials improve the surface performance of blades to enhance power generation efficiency. After a certain wind power enterprise treated the blades with organic silicon coating, the surface roughness was reduced to 0.5 μ m, reducing air resistance and increasing annual power generation by 5%. Meanwhile, as a lubricating oil for gearboxes, silicone oil has a high viscosity index (>200) and extreme pressure performance (PB value>800N) that can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40 ℃ to 80 ℃, reducing the failure rate by 30%.
Energy storage systems are another growth point for organic silicon applications. In lithium-ion batteries, organic silicon binders enhance the adhesion between electrode materials and current collectors by forming a three-dimensional network structure, resulting in a battery cycle life exceeding 2000 times. In addition, silicon-based solid electrolytes (ion conductivity>10 ⁻ ³ S/cm) are gradually replacing liquid electrolytes to solve safety problems such as leakage and thermal runaway, and promote electric vehicle range exceeding 1000 kilometers.
