Leshan Chemical Conference Outlook: Fluorosilicon New Materials Empower the "Dual Carbon" Goal

On September 16, 2025, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation will hold a conference on high-quality development of the chemical industry in Leshan, and establish a special forum on fluorosilicon new materials. Ouyang Minggao, an academician of the CAS Member, will interpret the development trend of new energy materials, and experts from the China Fluorosilicone Association will analyze the industry policy guidance during the "15th Five Year Plan" period.


Clear technical roadmap
The conference will release the White Paper on Low Carbon Development of Fluorosilicon Materials, proposing the goal of achieving a 40% reduction in carbon emissions per unit of output value by 2030. The key technologies to be promoted include:


Photovoltaic grade silane coupling agent: reduces surface recombination loss of crystalline silicon cells and improves conversion efficiency by 0.3 percentage points;
Fluorinated sealing materials for hydrogen storage and transportation: can withstand extreme environments from -50 ℃ to 150 ℃, with a leakage rate of less than 10 ⁻⁹ Pa · m ³/s;
Biobased fluorosilicone surfactant: using straw as raw material to replace some petroleum based products.
Various highlights of investment projects
Leshan Wutongqiao Chemical Industrial Park has launched 12 key investment projects with a total investment of 8.5 billion yuan. Among them, the "Fluorosilicon Material Recycling and Regeneration Base" planned in the Jianwei Mabian Enclave Park has attracted much attention. The project adopts the cracking technology developed by Professor Ding Yin's team at Nanjing University, which can recover 95% of siloxane monomers from waste silicone rubber, reducing the cost of recycled materials by 4000 yuan per ton compared to raw materials.
