In March 2025, a domestic research institution, in collaboration with multiple enterprises, announced the successful development of a new generation of high-temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil. Its thermal stability has exceeded 350 β, which is 40% higher than traditional products and fills the gap in the application of high-end silicone oil in extreme environments in China. This achievement has been certified by a national laboratory and has obtained multiple invention patents, marking that China's organic silicon material technology has entered the international leading ranks.
Ethyl silicone oil is widely used in high-end fields such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, and electronic packaging due to its excellent lubricity, hydrophobicity, and chemical stability. However, due to insufficient high-temperature resistance, high-end products in the domestic market have long relied on imports. The R&D team has introduced a new type of siloxane chain segment through molecular structure design and synthesis process innovation, significantly improving the thermal decomposition temperature and oxidation stability of the material. Experimental data shows that the new product operates continuously for 500 hours at a high temperature of 350 β, with a performance degradation rate of less than 5%, reaching the level of similar international products.

Previously, the unit price of imported ethyl silicone oil was as high as 800 yuan per kilogram, and the supply cycle was as long as 6 months. The cost of new products was reduced by 30%, and the delivery cycle was shortened to 1 month. Verification has been completed in the company's engine seals. According to industry statistics, the market size of high-end ethyl silicone oil in China is expected to reach 2 billion yuan by 2025, and there is a vast space for domestic substitution.
At the policy level, the national "14th Five Year Plan" for the development of new materials clearly lists organic silicon materials as a key breakthrough area, and local supporting funds and tax incentives accelerate technological transformation. At present, the R&D team is jointly building a pilot base with multiple leading enterprises, planning to achieve an annual production capacity of 5000 tons by 2026 and expand to emerging scenarios such as photovoltaic inverters and 5G base station heat dissipation.
