On March 23, 2026, Wuhan - With the continuous growth of demand for high-performance silicone oil in high-end fields such as global new energy and electronic packaging, the domestic ethyl silicone oil industry is accelerating its transformation towards scale and green direction. As one of the main production bases for ethyl silicone oil in China, Hubei Province has recently experienced a dual upgrade of capacity expansion and environmental protection renovation by multiple enterprises.


Hubei Fangde New Materials Co., Ltd. recently announced that its annual production of 50000 tons of high-performance ethyl silicone oil project has been officially put into operation. This project adopts internationally advanced continuous production technology, and through optimizing catalyst formula and molecular rearrangement technology, the product purity is increased to over 99.9%, and the metal ion content is controlled below 0.1ppm, which can meet the strict requirements of high-end fields such as semiconductor packaging and medical implant devices. The company's general manager stated that the new production line is also equipped with waste heat recovery and VOCs treatment devices, which reduce energy consumption per unit product by 20% compared to traditional processes and meet EU standards for exhaust emissions.


At the same time, Hubei Jusheng Technology Co., Ltd. has made a breakthrough in the "bio based ethyl silicone oil synthesis technology" jointly developed with Wuhan University. This technology uses renewable resources as raw materials and replaces traditional chlorosilane hydrolysis processes with enzyme catalyzed polymerization, reducing the generation of chlorine containing waste from the source. At present, the technology has completed pilot testing and the product performance is comparable to petroleum based products. It is expected to achieve industrial production by 2027.


According to statistics from the Hubei Organic Silicon Industry Association, the production capacity of ethyl silicone oil in the province will reach 180000 tons by 2025, accounting for 35% of the total national production capacity. The proportion of high-end products will increase from 12% in 2020 to 28%. The Secretary General of the Association pointed out that with the promotion of the "dual carbon" goal, the industry is shifting from scale expansion to quality priority. It is expected that by 2030, the proportion of green and low-carbon production capacity in the province will exceed 60%, promoting the continuous rise of China's ethyl silicone oil industry in the global value chain.
