Domestic ultra-low temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil achieves mass production breakthrough, filling the gap in extreme working conditions application

Recently, from the 24th Organic Silicon Fine Chemicals Technology Exchange Conference in 2024, it was reported that domestic organic silicon new material enterprises have made key progress in the research and development of ultra-low temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil. The related products have achieved stable mass production, and their low-temperature performance indicators have reached the international leading level.
According to the research and development team, this new type of ethyl silicone oil can work stably for a long time in a wide temperature range of -70 ℃ to 150 ℃. Compared with traditional dimethyl silicone oil, its low-temperature fluidity and friction lubrication performance are improved by more than 40%, while retaining the original characteristics of ethyl silicone oil such as low vapor pressure and small surface tension. It can perfectly adapt to the lubrication and damping needs of precision instruments and aerospace onboard equipment in extremely cold regions.
Previously, high-end low-temperature resistant ethyl silicone oil relied on imports for a long time, and extreme working conditions in related fields in China have always faced material bottlenecks. This breakthrough in mass production technology relies on the independent research and development system of the entire industry chain. By optimizing the co hydrolysis condensation and molecular rearrangement processes, the production cost has been significantly reduced while ensuring that the product purity reaches 99%. At present, the product has been tested and verified by multiple precision instruments and aviation supporting enterprises, and will soon be put into industrial application in bulk. It will provide important support for China's material independent support capabilities in polar exploration, high-end equipment manufacturing and other fields.
