The demand for green rubber and plastic additives continues to rise, and the application map of ethyl silicone oil industry is further expanding

With the accelerated pace of environmental upgrading in the domestic rubber and plastic processing industry, non-toxic and low volatile ethyl silicone oil, as a high-performance plasticizer, has recently seen a year-on-year increase in market demand of 22%. Its penetration rate in the fields of conductive silicone rubber and special flexible rubber products continues to increase, becoming a new driving force for the growth of the organic silicon fine separation track.


In recent years, many regions in China have introduced new environmental regulations for rubber and plastic products, which have raised higher requirements for the volatility and biological safety of plasticizers. Ethyl silicone oil, with its characteristics of no odor, low migration, and stable chemical properties, has quickly replaced traditional plasticizers in high-end rubber and plastic production lines. In the production process of conductive silicone rubber, adding an appropriate amount of ethyl silicone oil can effectively weaken the intermolecular forces between rubber molecules, reduce the elastic modulus of vulcanized rubber, and simultaneously improve the product's elongation at break and flexibility. It can also improve the compatibility between rubber and conductive fillers, increasing the processing efficiency of mixing and molding processes by about 18%.


From the perspective of domestic industrial layout, the production and supply of ethyl silicone oil are mainly concentrated in Hubei, Jiangsu, Shanghai and other places. A complete system of products with different viscosity grades has been formed, which can cover the full scenario demand from low viscosity instrument oil to high viscosity damping fluid. In addition to the field of rubber and plastic processing, its application boundaries are constantly expanding, and the order volume in precision instrument lubrication, electrical insulation infusion, special hydraulic oil blending and other fields is also increasing synchronously. Industry analysts predict that with the release of demand in downstream new energy, aerospace, and high-end equipment manufacturing fields, the market size of ethyl silicone oil will maintain a compound annual growth rate of over 15% in the next three years, becoming a sub category with outstanding growth potential in silicone materials.
