The continuous synthesis process of ethyl silicone oil in China has achieved a breakthrough, and the dependence on imported high-end electronic products continues to decline

On July 9, 2026, key technological progress was reported in the field of organic silicon materials in China. The solid superacid coupled microchannel continuous flow synthesis of ethyl silicone oil process, jointly developed by multiple fine chemical enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta and universities, has completed the full process mass production verification. Actual test data shows that this process increases the conversion rate of ethylsiloxane monomer to over 98.5%, and the product polydispersity index is stably controlled in the range of 1.15-1.25. The energy consumption per unit product is reduced by 35% compared to traditional intermittent catalytic processes, marking a new stage of green and efficient large-scale production of ethyl silicone oil in China.


For a long time, electronic grade ethyl silicone oil has been the core basic material for semiconductor advanced process cleaning and new energy 800V high-voltage platform cooling fluid. It has relied on imports for a long time, and in 2023, the dependence on imported high-end products in China reached as high as 67%. With the implementation of this new technology, a collaborative industrial layout of "synthesis of crude monomers in the central and western regions+high-end refining in the Yangtze River Delta" has been formed in China. 75% of the crude monomer production capacity is concentrated in raw material advantage areas such as Hubei and Jiangsu, and 68.5% of the high-end refining production capacity gathers in the Yangtze River Delta industrial cluster. The east-west industrial chain achieves real-time sharing of process parameters through digital collaborative platforms, gradually bridging the long-standing technological gap.


According to industry organizations' calculations, the dependence on imported electronic grade ethyl silicone oil in China has begun to steadily decline by 2026. The procurement costs of downstream semiconductor and new energy enterprises have decreased by 22% compared to the same period last year. Core indicators such as low-temperature performance and dielectric strength of the product have reached the level of similar international products, and can fully meet the precision lubrication and insulation needs under extreme working conditions of -110 ℃. Industry experts have stated that as the validation of domestic ethyl silicone oil in high-end scenarios continues to advance, more segmented fields will achieve import substitution in the next two years, further consolidating China's independent guarantee capability for high-end silicone materials.
