Since 2026, the domestic production of ethyl silicone oil has ushered in a wave of process innovation, with continuous polymerization technology gradually replacing traditional intermittent production modes. While significantly improving production efficiency, the energy consumption per unit product has decreased by 22% compared to three years ago, promoting the entire industry to take a key step towards green and low-carbon direction.
As the core product of the organic silicon subdivision track, ethyl silicone oil has long played an irreplaceable role in precision instruments, electronic and electrical, aerospace and other fields due to its excellent low-temperature resistance, low surface tension and stable electrical insulation properties. Previously, due to the lack of reaction controllability in traditional production processes, the conversion rate of high-end ethyl silicone oil products has always been difficult to exceed 82%. The low boiling point generated during the production process has a low recovery and utilization rate, which not only increases production costs but also brings considerable pressure to the environmental protection treatment process.
With the implementation and application of new and efficient catalyst systems, the current mainstream production lines in China have significantly improved the selectivity of polymerization reactions, with product conversion rates increasing to over 94%. The performance deviation between different viscosity batches is controlled within 2%, completely solving the industry pain point of large viscosity fluctuations in different batches of products in the past. After the process upgrade, the waste gas and liquid generated during the production process can be directly converted into production raw materials for recycling through a closed-loop recovery system. The carbon emissions per unit product have decreased by nearly 30% compared to 2023, fully meeting the latest environmental emission requirements of the domestic fine chemical industry.
According to market feedback, ethyl silicone oil products produced using new processes can maintain stable lubrication and damping performance even in extremely cold environments of -70 ℃, with a 15% reduction in dielectric loss compared to traditional products. Currently, they have been widely used in lubrication systems for polar scientific research equipment, insulation and thermal conductivity modules for 5G communication base stations, and electronic component protection for new energy vehicles. Industry data shows that in the first half of 2026, the overall supply of ethyl silicone oil in the domestic market increased by 27% year-on-year, with the proportion of high-end electronic grade and low-temperature resistant special grade products rising to 41%. The demand for replenishment of downstream industries continues to be released, and mainstream market quotations in the East China region remain strong. The overall profit margin of the industry remains stable at over 18%, and the profit margin of high-end product lines has exceeded 28%.
Industry insiders say that with the comprehensive popularization of green synthesis technology, the domestic ethyl silicone oil industry is gradually getting rid of the development dilemma of being "big but not strong" in the past. The product performance and stability have reached the international advanced level, which not only significantly reduces the external dependence of downstream high-end manufacturing in China, but also lays a solid technical foundation for expanding the global market in the future.
