In August 2026, several domestic fine chemical enterprises jointly announced new progress in the practical application of ethyl silicone oil. This special silicone oil, with polydimethysiloxane as its core component, has officially achieved large-scale batch applications in scenarios such as aerospace precision instruments and polar scientific research equipment, thanks to its exceptional low-temperature resistance that prevents solidification at -70°C.
Compared to traditional dimethyl silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil not only retains the excellent dielectric properties and chemical inertness of silicone materials but also further optimizes the viscosity-temperature coefficient, maintaining stable lubrication performance across a wide temperature range. Additionally, it causes no corrosion or damage to various contact materials such as metals and plastics, and can be directly miscible with mineral oil and most synthetic lubricants. Currently, leading domestic manufacturers can stably supply high-purity ethyl silicone oil products with a purity of 99%, with some high-viscosity grades achieving flash points exceeding 250°C, fully meeting the safety standards for long-term industrial use.
According to industry application feedback, precision machinery equipped with ethyl silicone oil lubrication components achieves over 40% longer fault-free operation time under alternating high and low-temperature conditions compared to traditional lubrication solutions, significantly reducing equipment maintenance costs in extreme environments.
