In the second half of 2026, the domestic ethyl silicone oil industry will undergo a comprehensive upgrade in production. Several leading production enterprises have completed the green transformation of hydrolysis and condensation processes, improving product purity to over 99% while reducing energy consumption by 18% and volatile organic compound emissions by 32%, promoting the entire industry to move towards high quality and low emissions.
It is reported that the current domestic market for ethyl silicone oil has formed a product matrix covering a full range of products such as low viscosity, low temperature resistance, pharmaceutical grade, cosmetic grade, and thermal conductive media. The market supply of different sub categories is sufficient, and the number of suppliers has nearly doubled compared to three years ago. The product prices have gradually stabilized with large-scale production, providing a cost-effective domestic alternative for downstream industries such as pharmaceutical intermediates, daily chemical products, and electronic materials.
According to relevant data from industry associations, the core production areas of ethyl silicone oil in China are currently concentrated in provinces such as Hubei and Jiangsu. The supporting industrial chain is constantly improving, and the products not only meet the needs of domestic aviation, precision machinery, electrical insulation and other fields, but also are exported in bulk to Europe, North America and other regions, widely used in the manufacturing of high-end precision instruments and special lubrication equipment. With the implementation of the new version of chemical raw material storage and transportation regulations, the storage and transportation process of ethyl silicone oil as a non hazardous material has been further standardized, and the overall supply chain efficiency of the industry has been greatly improved, laying a solid foundation for the popularization of more emerging scenarios in the future.
